Macintosh OS 10.2 - PPPoE DSL Connection

To start the OS 10.2 Setup Assistant:

  1. Open the Hard Drive.
  2. Open the System folder.
  3. Open the Library folder.
  4. Open the Core Services folder.
  5. Double click the Setup Assistant icon.

If you are unable to locate the Setup Assistant, click here for instructions to manually setup your DSL account.

When the Setup Assistant opens, select I'll use my existing Internet service and click Continue.

Select DSL Modem and click Continue.

  • Select PPP from the TCP/IP Connection Type menu.
  • Enter your expedient DNS servers into the DNS Hosts box. Click here for the list of expedient DNS servers.
  • Enter expedient.net for the Domain.
  • Leave the Proxy Server box empty.
  • Check the option Connect using PPPoE.
  • Click Continue.

  • Enter expedient for the Service Provider.
  • Leave the PPPoE Service Name blank.
  • Enter your username and password into the Account Name and Password field. Your username should be in the form of username@expedient.net
  • Click Continue.

When prompted for .Mac information, select the option that you wish and click Continue.

Your DSL connection should now be setup. Click Go to finish.

To connect to the Internet via PPPoE, click the Right-Left (<-->) arrow icon on the menu bar and select Connect.
