Alltel Efficient Speedstream 5200 Configuration

Step 1: Configure TCP/IP > NIC in Network Control Panel

Windows

  1. Go to the Network Control Panel.
  2. Select TCP/IP > NIC and go to Properties .
  3. On the IP Address Tab, select obtain an IP address automatically.
  4. On the Wins Configuration Tab, select Disable WINS Resolution unless applicable.
  5. On the Gateway Tab, make sure there is no default gateway set.
  6. On the DNS Tab:

    • Select Enable DNS
    • Host = username
    • Domain = expedient.net
    • DNS = 208.138.204.22, 208.138.204.21

Macintosh

  1. Go to Apple and select Control Panels .
  2. Select TCP/IP
    • Connect via: Ethernet
    • Configure: Manually
    • IP Address: 192.168.1.10
    • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    • Router Address: 192.168.1.1
    • Name Server Address: 208.138.204.22, 208.138.204.21
    • Additional Search domains: expedient.net


Step 2: Configure the Efficient Speedstream 5200

The Tango software can be removed and the native PPPoE or PPPoE software can be configured on the client. Remove Tango by going to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Remove "Efficient Speed Stream Modem" and "Tango Manager". Configure native PPPoE or PPPoE software such as WinPoET on the client (computer) and set the DNS.
