Changing from Dialup to DSL
If you have recently switched from dialup to DSL, your Internet applications may be set to automatically dial a connection, even if your DSL is active. Many programs use the default Internet Explorer connection settings (Even if you are using Netscape or another web browser). If your application is not listed, check the Internet Explorer settings first. If this does not resolve the problem, consult the application's Help file for more information.
If you use WinPoET for your DSL connection:
- Open the Control Panel.
- Double-click the Internet (or Internet Options) icon.
- Click the Connection tab.
- Select the Stargate PPPoE connection and select "Always dial my default connection."
- Click the Settings button. These options should be unchecked.
- Enter your PPPoE DSL username and password.
- Click OK, then OK again.
