Changing from Dialup to DSL

Problem: Your computer still tries to connect via dialup modem when you open Internet software like your web browser or your email client.

Operating Systems: Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, & NT

If you have recently switched from dialup to DSL, your Internet applications may be set to automatically dial a connection, even if your DSL is active. Many programs use the default Internet Explorer connection settings (Even if you are using Netscape or another web browser). If your application is not listed, check the Internet Explorer settings first. If this does not resolve the problem, consult the application's Help file for more information.
