Install USB Drivers if using USB - WINDOWS ONLY

Note: You will need the Windows CD or appropriate .cab files to install the USB drivers. The Westell USB drivers are available on the Westell CD. The USB installation will not function for Macintosh computers. Macintosh computers must use the router's Ethernet installation.

  1. To install the drivers, insert the CD. The "Add New Hardware" wizard will appear. On the first screen select Next.
  2. Select Search for the best driver.
  3. On the location window, select CD-ROM drive option and click Next. Windows will search for the driver.
  4. On the "What do you want to install" screen, select Updated Driver (Westell WireSpeed Dual Connect Modem) and click Next.
Note: If the location window did not appear and "USB Composite Device, C:\Windows\Inf\USB.inf" appears, go back to the location window and select the CD-ROM drive option.
  5. Remove the Westell CD and insert the Windows CD. The system will begin copying files.
  6. A confirmation window will appear when the installation is complete. Click Finish on this screen. At the pop-up prompt to restart the computer, click Yes to reboot.

Westell Adapter in Network Control Panel

In Windows 98/ME, a Westell adapter will appear in the Network Control Panel with TCP/IP bound to it and which can then be configured for the standard network settings.
