Before you begin...

Changing the Windows Network settings may require the original Windows installation CD or disks, or Windows system source (cabinet) files on the computers's hard drive. Expedient cannot be held responsible for any problems with the Windows Network configurations if these items are required but are not supplied at the time of configuration.

Open the Control Panel and double click the Network icon.

Highlight the TCP/IP bound to you ethernet card (it should be listed like: TCP/IP -> Ethernet card). Click the Properties button.

Click the IP Address tab and select Specify an IP adress. Enter your assigned IP Address and Subnet Mask into the appropriate fields.

Click the WINS Configuration tab. Select Disable WINS Resolution.

Click the Gateway tab. Enter your assigned Gateway address into the New Gateway field and click add. Remove any old gateways if necessary.

Click the DNS Configuration tab. Select Enable DNS.

  • Enter your username into the Host field.
  • Enter expedient.net for the Domain.
  • Enter your Expedient DNS numbers into the DNS Server Search Order. Click here for the list of Expedient DNS Servers.
  • Enter expedient.net into the Domain Suffix Search Order field.

Click OK, then OK again. Choose Yes when prompted to restart your computer.
