Save Web Page Pictures

If you see an image on a web page you'd like to keep on your hard drive, after the web page has loaded completely, scroll to the image you want to save.

For Windows users, right-click the picture to pop-up a menu.
For Macintosh users, click and hold down the mouse button to get a menu.

Choose the option to Save picture as or Save image as (depending on your web browser). Next, choose the folder to save in (we recommend the My Documents folder) and rename the picture if you'd like.

The picture is now saved on your computer. You can use it for your desktop image, in documents, or even on your own web page.

Notes: Some web pages have their images protected and you will not be able to download them. If you are planning on using an image on your own web page, you may need to ask the web page owner for permission first. Most sites will ask you not to use their images for commercial use.

What if you want to use this picture as your Desktop image?

This is pretty easy too:

For Windows users do not need to save the image to the hard drive first. Just right click the picture in the web page and choose Set As Wallpaper. To adjust the image (tile it, stretch it, or center it on the screen), open your Control Panel, double click the Display icon and click the Desktop tab.

For Macintosh users, first download the image to your hard drive. Click the Apple menu, go to Control Panels, and open the Appearance control panel. Under the Desktop tab, click Place picture... (If you already have an image on the back ground, click Remove picture first) Choose the folder you saved the picture, select it from the click and click Choose.
