Password security
Passwords are one of the most widespread ways to protect personal information and services from those who shouldn't be able to access them. It is important to realize that A) a password's purpose is to guard something of yours and B) that a password should not be easy to guess.
A password should be chosen using letters and/or numbers (numbers are recommended since they make it more difficult to guess your password) that represent something you will remember easily. For example, say you were born in Boston and the house number where you grew up was 472, you might pick a password like bostn472. Passwords, alone in the English language, can actually be more useful when misspelled and/or have unconventional capitalization (i.e. boSTn472), since that as well will make them more difficult to guess. Try to avoid using only numbers - these can be the easiest password to guess.
Once you've picked a password, write it down. Keep your password in a secure place so that you can look it up in case of issues such as your computer not saving it or getting a new computer and you can't remember what it was.
As an added level of security, it is advised to change your password from time to time. This isn't necessary, but it eliminates the probability that anyone who may have stumbled upon your password would be able to continue to use your account and/or cause any problems with it.
