Outlook Express 5 - News

These instructions assume that your email account has already been setup in Outlook Express 5. If you need to setup your email, please click here for instructions.

Open Outlook Express. Click the Tools menu and choose Accounts.

In the Accounts window, click the New button and choose News Account.

Choose the E-mail account that you would like to associate with this News account. This will be the name and email address that appears when you post news messages. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.

Enter your News (NNTP) Server. Click here for the list of Expedient News Servers. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.

Note: If you are using our National Access news server, put a check in the box next to My news server requires me to log on. You will be prompted for your username (in the form of username@expedient.net) and password on the following screen.

Enter Expedient News for the Account name.

Click Finish and close the Accounts window. You should then be prompted to download the list of groups from the server.
