Maximum Message Size and Number of Recipients
There are restrictions for receiving and sending mail through Expedient's mail servers, specifically, the message size and the number of recipients per message.
For more information and instructions, please select from the list below.
Maximum Message Size - Receiving email
The maximum message size any user can receive through the Expedient mail servers is roughly 10 MB by default. If someone sends you an email that is larger than the limit, they will receive the following message:
|
552 Sorry, your message is larger than that address is configured to accept. Forward this response to the intended recipient to increase the maximum message size by following the online directions at http://help.expedient.net/mailnews/maximum.shtml.

Maximum Message Size - Sending email
The maximum message size any user can send through the Expedient mail servers is 10MB. If you need to convey a large file by email, you may want to compress it, or break the message into smaller pieces.
You also need to consider that when you attach a file to an email, the size of the message can nearly double. So we recommend keeping attachments
on individual messages to 5MB or less. See Attachments for more information.

Maximum Number of Recipients
The maximum number of recipients you can send to per message is one hundred (100). This is to help prevent spam messages from originating from our network.
Note: We offer Mail List services that will allow you to send messages to more than one hundred (100) recipients. See our Mailman Mail List FAQ for more information.
