    Configure your Expedient Email Account

    Check your Account Settings

    Configure your Expedient Email Account

    1. To use Outlook, you must first create a profile. To create a profile:

      1. Go to the Control Panel and double click the Mail icon.

      2. To set up a new profile for Exchange, click Show Profiles...

      3. Click Add. A New Profile window will appear. Type a name for the profile in the Profile Name: field.

An account wizard should open. If it does not, select the Profile you just created in the Profiles pane and click the Properties button.

    2. Select the Add a new e-mail account option on the first screen of the email wizard. Click Next.

    3. Select the POP3 * (or IMAP) option. Click Next.

While it is recommended that you use the POP3 protocol, in which the messages are downloaded locally to your computer. If IMAP protocol is selected, messages are read directly off the server and are not downloaded. While IMAP is sometimes useful if you want email to be available from more than one computer, such as from home and work, messages left on the server in all folders (Inbox, Sent Items, Trash,...) may result in going overquota. Unless an option is checked to leave a copy of the messages on the server, using POP3 will not result in an overquota box.

Note that you can retrieve messages from any location using the Expedient Webmail interface, which uses the IMAP protocol. However, as with the IMAP option in an email program, messages must be deleted off the server at regular intervals to eliminate the possibility of exceeding the quota.

    4. Fill-in the following boxes.

      User Information

      1. In the Your Name field, type in the name you want to appear in the "From:" field on outgoing messages.
      2. In the E-mail Address field, enter your full Expedient email address (example username@expedient.net).
