To set up your Outlook Express Client to access an Exchange 2000 server using
WebDAV:
- Open Outlook Express. To do so, click Start, point to
Programs, and then click Outlook Express.
- On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
- From the Internet Accounts dialog box, click the Mail
tab.
- Click Add, and click Mail from the secondary menu that
appears. The Internet Connection wizard starts.
- Type the name you want to use for your display name in the Display
Name box, and click Next to continue.
- Click the I already have an email address that I'd like to use
option. Provide your complete e-mail address in the E-mail Address box,
for example, someone@microsoft.com, and click Next to continue.
- You are asked to provide your e-mail server names. From the My incoming
server is a ____ server list, select HTTP.
- Specify the URL to your Exchange Server computer in the Incoming Mail
(POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, for example,
http://exchange_server_name/exchange/user_mailbox.
- A new option appears, My HTTP mail services provider is ____. Select
Other from the list because you are not setting up access to a HotMail
server, and click Next to continue.
- You are then asked to provide your Internet mail logon information. Provide
a valid Exchange Server account name and password in the Account Name and
Password boxes, and click Next to continue.
- Click Finish to complete the creation of your new mail account. Your
new mail account should appear under the Mail tab on the Internet
Accounts dialog box. Click Close.
- You are asked if you would like to download folders from the mail server you
added. Click Yes if you want to complete this action now.
