FTP Client Configuration

With the variety of FTP clients available, it would be impossible to include setup instructions for all of them. If your FTP client is not listed, consult your clients Help files for further assistance.

WS_FTP (Windows)  CuteFTP (Windows)

Fetch (Macintosh)  Netfinder (Macintosh)

WS_FTP

• Open WS_FTP. On the Session Properties windows, click the New button.
• Enter STargate for the Profile Name.
• Enter your ftp server name into the Host Name/Address field. Click here for the list of Stargate personal webspace servers.
• Set the Host Type to Automatic detect.
• Enter your username and password into the appropriate fields.

  Please note that the username of your webspace has a maximum of 8 characters: if your username is longer than 8 characters, it will be shortened to conform to the server requirements.

• Click OK. The FTP program will now connect.

CuteFTP

• Open CuteFTP. Click the File menu and select Site Manager.
• Click the New button.
• Enter Stargate for the Label into site box.
• Enter your ftp server name into the FTP Host Address field. Click here for the list of Stargate personal webspace servers.
• Enter your username and password into the FTP site Username and Password fields.

  Please note that the username of your webspace has a maximum of 8 characters: if your username is longer than 8 characters, it will be shortened to conform to the server requirements.

• Leave the FTP site connection port at 21, and the Login type set to Normal.
• Click Connect.

Fetch

• Open Fetch. In the Host field enter your ftp server name. Click here for the list of Stargate personal webspace servers.
• Enter your username and password into the User ID and Password fields.

  Please note that the username of your webspace has a maximum of 8 characters: if your username is longer than 8 characters, it will be shortened to conform to the server requirements.

• Click OK to connect.

NetFinder

• Open Netfinder. Click the File menu and select New Connection.
• Enter your ftp server name into the Server field. Click here for the list of Stargate personal webspace servers.
• Enter your username and password into the appropriate fields.

  Please note that the username of your webspace has a maximum of 8 characters: if your username is longer than 8 characters, it will be shortened to conform to the server requirements.

• Click Connect.
