Connecting with MacPoet

Install MacPoET

Note: Do not install MacPoET on Macintosh OS X. OS X has a built in PPPoE client that should be used instead. Click here for setup instructions.

Double click the MacPoET Installer.

Highlight and drag Install MacPoet onto the hard drive icon, as described in the installer.

Click Restart when prompted.

Configure TCP/IP

After the computer restarts, you must configure TCP/IP.

  • Click the Apple menu, choose Control Panels, and click TCP/IP.
  • Select Ethernet from the Connect via: popup menu.
  • The Configure option should be set to Manual.
  • Enter 192.0.0.1 for the IP Address.
  • Enter 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask.
  • Enter 192.0.0.2 for the Router Address.
  • Enter your Expedient DNS servers into the Domain Server Addr field.
  • Type expedient.net into the Additional Search Domain field.

To enable Appletalk, select and configure the Appletalk Control Panel and make sure the Appletalk Active radio button is selected in the chooser.

Connecting with MacPoET

Locate the MacPoET folder on your hard drive and double click the MacPoet application.

Note: We recommend creating an alias to MacPoet and dragging it to the desktop

Enter your username and password. Your username should be in the form of username@expedient.net or username@dsl.stargate.net. If you want MacPoET to connect automatically when the computer starts, select Save Password and Connect at Startup.
