FTP Client Configuration

With the variety of FTP clients available, it would be impossible to include setup instructions for all of them. If your FTP client is not listed, consult your FTP client Help file for further assistance.

 WS_FTP (Windows)

 CuteFTP (Windows)

 Fetch (Macintosh)

 Netfinder (Macintosh)

When sending files, most FTP programs have an "Auto detect" feature that works relatively well. However, if there is any question about whether your program is detecting file types correctly and sending them in the right mode (ascii or binary), select the proper mode in your ftp program.

If sending... Select...
Images (.gif, .jpeg) Binary
HTML ASCII
Perl and C code (text files) ASCII
QuickTime Movies Binary

If you are having difficulties uploading via FTP, check out the General Troubleshooting page.

  • Enter your username and password into the User ID and Password fields.
  • Click OK to connect.
