Downloading messages takes a long time or causes system to freeze

You may not be checking your email frequently enough and have a large number of email messages on the server or you may be receiving emails that contain very large attachments.

Tips for Managing your Mail...

If possible, check for new email on a daily basis. On average, if you receive more than 5 email messages a day, you should check for new mail several times a day.

Make sure you have your mail program preferences set to remove the mail from the server.

A message with a large attachment may be in your email box, causing your email program to hang. You can determine the 'problem' email using Expedient's Webmail system. Refer to the Email Attachments page for more information.
