Netscape 7 - Mail

	SMTP Auth and SSL
	Expedient email may also be configured for SMTP Authentication and SSL encryption for outgoing email. Please note that SMTP Auth and SSL are optional and are not required to use Expedient email. For further information and setup instructions, see the links below. NOTE: Please configure SMTP Auth or SSL after first configuring your email program for your Expedient email. The pictures shown in these instructions were taken on a Windows based computer, but the content and instructions will be nearly identical for Macintosh users.

Open Netscape and go to the Mail & Newsgroups window (Click the Tasks menu and choose Mail & Newsgroups).

Click the Edit menu and choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.

Set your Incoming mail server

Click the New Account button. Choose ISP or email provider and click Next.

Enter Your Name and Email Address, and click Next.

Select POP for the type of incoming server, and enter your Expedient mail server name. Click here for the list of Expedient email servers. Click Next.

Enter your email username or Expedient email address in the format of username@expedient.net in lowercase letters. Click Next.

Netscape will now ask for the Account Name. This is a unique name to refer to these settings. It should already show your email address, if not, enter Expedient. Click Next.

The last screen will allow you to review the settings you have entered. Click Finish.

Set your Outgoing mail server

Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the left column. Enter your Expedient mail server name into the Server name box. Click here for the list of Expedient mail servers.

Click OK to return to Netscape.
