Relaying Denied

While you can receive your email through any connection to the Internet, Expedient does not allow users outside of the Expedient network to send email through our servers. This is done to ensure the security of our mail servers. If you are using an Internet connection other than Expedient (like a cable connection, dsl or dialup through a different provider, or your company LAN) you will get a Relaying denied type of error when you attempt to send email.

There are 4 different solutions to this problem:

  1. Use your Expedient connection when sending mail.

  2. Use Expedient's Webmail. This will allow you to send mail on Expedient's servers no matter where you are.

  3. Use the SMTP (Outgoing) mail server of the provider you are currently connected to. You may need to contact that provider for more information.

  4. Set up your email client to use SMTP authentication. This will allow you to relay through our server, even if you aren't connected directly to Expedient.
