Note: Stargate does not provide technical support for "legacy" operating systems such as Windows 3.1, Windows 95, NT4(SP6), Macintosh 7.x-8 or Linux/Unix, Palm, PocketPC or Game Systems except for configuration information needed to connect and use Stargate services such as email. We do not provide technical assistance for beta software, chat software, game software or third party software.
Supported Routers and Adapters for Home Networking
Please note that Stargate does not sell the hardware for the Home Networking service. Customers must purchase a router and enough network adapters for the
configuration. Up to 4 computers are supported on a Pay per Incident basis.
Support is provided daily from 7:00am - midnight. Stargate's official support encompasses the network connectivity devices as well as up to 4 computers (Windows 98 + and Macintosh OS 8 + only). We do not provide support for installation of NIC cards, splicing or crimping of Cat-5 cable, Unix-based operating systems, additional hubs, routers, switches, or peripherals like printers, cameras, scanners, hardware firewalls; nor do we provide support for port forwarding and other advanced features of the Linksys. * The WAP11 is designed to be used in conjunction with a PPPoE
capable bridge or some other broadband intelligence router. It does not have the
built in 4 port switch for non-wireless device connectivity. The WAP11 is for
users that have an existing PPPoE device upstream and do not require additional
10/100BaseT ports. The WAP11 does have a web interface, but it only configures
the access point with an IP address and sets up all of the encryption and
wireless settings. It cannot be configured as a router.

ship with a network adapter card already installed. Please check this before
purchasing additional hardware. Stores known to carry this equipment are: Best
Buy, CompUSA, Office Depot, Office Max, Staples & Wal-Mart. It can also be
found at many online merchant sites such as Amazon.com. Stargate does not
endorse any one vendor. Hardware costs range from approximately $100 - $200 for
routers and $35 - $100 for adapters with wireless being on the high end. **
Required for Apple Macintosh in addition to Linksys wireless router. Stargate
supports home networking for MacOS 8 and greater only.
