Configuring the VPN Client
The pictures shown in these instructions were taken on a Windows based computer, but the content and instructions will be nearly identical for Macintosh users.
After the VPN Client is installed, to configure it:
Open the VPN Client. On the Configure tab, click the Add button.
- The Login Method should be Shared Key.
- Enter your username (in the form of username@domain.com) into the Login Name field.
- Enter the Primary VPN Server that was assigned to you.
- If you were not assigned a Secondary VPN Server, leave this field blank.
- Use NAT Transparency Mode should be UNCHECKED unless using a cable modem, broadband DSL, proxy, natted traffic, or if receiving errors (other than authentication errors).
- Click OK.
Making the VPN Connection
Open the VPN client and click the Connect button on the Configuration tab.
Enter your shared secret and click OK.
At the RADIUS Login screen, enter your Password and the Authentication Secret and click OK.
When you are connected:
- Windows: A spinning globe should appear in your system tray.
- Macintosh: A black dot appears next to the connection in the VPN client
To Close the VPN Connection
Open (restore) the VPN Client:
Windows - Click the Disconnect button then click the Exit button. Alternate Method: Right click the spinning globe in the system tray and select Exit.
Macintosh - Click the Disconnect button, the click the File menu and select Quit.
