Uninstall the VPN Client

Windows

Uninstall the VPN client from the Add/Remove Programs control panel. See Uninstalling the Client from Cisco for details.

Windows NT/2000
If you must uninstall the software manually, refer to Uninstalling the Client and manually reinstalling the driver (WinNT/2000; Mac)

Macintosh

If you must uninstall the software manually, refer to Uninstalling the Client and manually reinstalling the driver (WinNT/2000; Mac)

Any older version of the client must first be uninstalled before a new version is installed in order for the client to function properly. The Mac OS X native 'Uninstall' utilities do not work properly, so you must use one of the two methods below to uninstall the Mac OS X VPN 5000 Client.

Method I: Enter the following command from a Terminal Window as the Super User ('su' or 'root') from the /Applications/VPN5000Client/ directory...
./vpn_uninstall

Method II: Enter the following commands from a Terminal Window as the Super User ('su' or 'root')

rm -rf /Library/Receipts/vpn5000*.pkg/ (if it exists)
rm -rf /Library/Receipts/vpn-5000*.pkg/
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/VPN5000.kext/
rm -rf /System/Library/StartupItems/VPN5000/
rm -rf /System/Library/StartupItems/VPN/ (if it exists)
rm -rf /Applications/VPN5000Client/
